Don’t you just love the beautiful game or so they say, but not this evening if you’re a Port supporter.

After a quiet first few minutes Bay’s Liam Armstrong’s shot from distance went wide of the goal to the relief of Port’s Josh Cooke. On 14′ Port were awarded a penalty after Liam Morris was brought down in the box, up stepped Shaun Cavanagh to convert the penalty. This brought Trearddur Bay to life and the dangerous Christoph Aziamale powered a shot past the post, and shortly after Aziamale had another shot which Cooke pushed away and another clearance from a Port defender.

On 26′ Armstrong’s through ball sent Aziamale through on goal only to see his shot go past Port’s left post. On the stroke of half time Bay’s substitute Sebastian Samuel’s shot was cleared off the line.

The 2nd half started pretty much as the 1st half ended with Trearddur Bay on the front foot, with both Toby Jones and Tom Hilditch having efforts well saved by Cooke.

On 59′ Port’s half time substitute Rhys Alun found himself in space but his shot went past Paul Pritchard’s left hand post. Cooke made another save at the foot of the post as Trearddur pressed for an equaliser, but on 64′ Port broke away and great work by Sion Williams released Rhys Alun who shot past Pritchard to make it 2-0 to Port and send the away fans wild with delight. Trearddur’s former Port player Hilditch had a free kick saved by Cooke and Sebastian Samuel had an effort tipped over the bar as Bay upped the tempo.

On 78′ Liam Morris shot went narrowly past the post after a pass from Sion Williams. On 81′ great work from Aziamale on the left found Hilditch in the six yard box who had a simple tap in to make it 1-2. Game on!! Bay sensed blood and piled on the pressure and were rewarded on 87′ as Sebastian Samuels’s effort from the edge of the box beat Cooke to make it 2-2.

A minute later Port were awarded a free kick after a foul on Rhys Alun, Gruff John’s header from Ryan William’s kick went agonisingly past the post.

Trearddur Bay were’nt happy to settle for a draw and went looking for a winner and on 90+5′ Cooke was adjudged to have brought down a Bay player in the box, after a consulation between the officials the referee awarded a penalty and Hilditch slotted it past Cooke to make it 3-2 and the winner!

Football can be cruel at times, but Trearddur Bay deserved the victory on the balance of play.
