Second vs First meet at the Traeth

A massive match is on the horizon for CPD Porthmadog as league leaders CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 visit for a key battle in the title race.

Bangor 1876 currently sit top of the Ardal Leagues North West table, with the Port close behind in second place, making this fixture one of the most important of the season. Both sides have been in excellent form, and everything points towards an intense and highly competitive night of football.

This season’s game

Bangor won the previous meeting between the two clubs earlier in the season, but much has changed since then. Porthmadog have built strong momentum over recent weeks, including some emphatic wins against St Asaph and Llay Welfare ond the Traeth and Llangefni Town (away) on a Friday night under the lights.

With the title race tightening, the Port will be eager to make a clear statement on their home turf and close the gap at the top of the table.

Form and Attacking Threat

Porthmadog have been consistent in front of goal throughout the season. Osian Evans leads the club’s scoring charts, with strong support from Rhys Alun and Jonny Bravo, alongside Shaun Cavanagh and Sam Reynolds, providing plenty of attacking threat from multiple areas of the pitch.

However, the task will be a tough one against Bangor 1876, who have been extremely prolific in front of goal throughout the campaign. Corrig McGonigle has once again been in red-hot form, supported by experience and depth across the visiting side.
