Port secured 3 points on the road this afternoon with a comfortable win at Roe Plas Meadow, against managerless St Asaph City.

Port started brightly and had plenty of possession, but St Asaph defended well in the early stages. It took about 14 minutes for our first attempt at goal with a Gruff Ellis header just wide of the goal after a cross from the right by Shaun Cavanagh.

Jake Jones came close to putting Port in the lead with a fine effort after a Math Jones header accross the goalmouth, and then a Sam Reynolds strike followed, was well saved by Jacob Roberts.

Port were now in total control and on 27′ Cai Jones sent a wonderful through ball for Jonny Bravo to slot past Roberts to the delight of the away supporters.

On 39′ Jack Rimmer’s effort from the left nearly caught Roberts out but was tipped over for a corner. Jake Jones nearly made it 2-0 but his shot rebounded off one of St Asaph’s defenders to safety.

Port were now hungry for more goals, and finally on 42′ Jonny Bravo scored his 2nd goal after an excellent Sam Reynolds cross to give Port a 2-0 half time lead.

St Asaph started the 2nd half in determined fashion on the attack, with Josh Cooke in the Port goal making 2 vital saves to keep the scoreline at 2-0.

On 61′ Ryan Williams effort from outside the box went sailing over the bar as Port started to take back control of the match, and within a minute great work by Cavanagh found Cai Jones whose strength got the better of the home defender to fire Port into a 3-0 lead.

Port were now well in control and substitute John Littlemore’s effort from a Jonny Bravo pass was gathered by Roberts. Then on 72′ Math Jones found himself in space 30 yards out and fired a shot that was tipped over the bar by Roberts.

As the match entered the last few minutes a free kick from Bravo was well saved and Littlemore’s effort was palmed away by Roberts.

Port were worthy winners by 3 goals to 0 to take 3 points and keep a clean sheet.

Thanks once again to all the travelling support, much appreciated.
